Deputy Head of Senior School - Wellbeing Ormiston College is seeking an experienced Deputy Head of Senior School – Wellbeing. This is a crucial role in supporting the student's wellbeing. About the role The Deputy Head of Senior School – Wellbeing plays a key leadership role in supporting the holistic development, wellbeing, and success of students at Ormiston College. This position is responsible for overseeing student wellbeing programs, managing behaviour processes, and ensuring that College policies are consistently applied to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. In collaboration with the Heads of School and other members of the leadership team, the Deputy Head of Senior School – Wellbeing provides guidance to Year Level Coordinators, supports staff in the induction and observation process, and works closely with Student Support Services to ensure appropriate interventions and wellbeing initiatives are in place. The role also has operational oversight of key Senior School events, administrative processes, and data management, including assemblies, immunisations, speech nights, co-curricular data, and attendance reporting. By effectively coordinating these responsibilities, the position contributes to the smooth operation of the Secondary School and strengthens the student experience. Mandatory requirement This position requires you to hold a registration or eligibility for registration with Queensland College of Teachers. Role responsibilities Lead the Student Wellbeing Curriculum and ensure consistent behaviour management practices across the Secondary School. Uphold College policies to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Support and guide Year Level Coordinators, assist with staff induction, and contribute to professional growth. Coordinate key school events such as assemblies, Speech Night, Parent Teacher Interviews, and student orientation. Oversee administrative requirements, including attendance data and co-curricular reporting management. Promote a culture of continuous improvement through professional development, data-driven decision-making, and adoption of best practice. About you Proven experience in leading student wellbeing, behaviour management, or pastoral care programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families. The capacity to mentor and support staff, fostering collaboration and professional growth. Excellent organisational skills to manage events, data, and administrative processes efficiently.
