What does a successful Legal Counsel do at Fiserv?As a Legal Counsel at Fiserv, you will provide legal advice on a wide range of areas including contracts, corporate governance, intellectual property, data privacy, mergers and acquisitions activities, regulatory matters, employment matters, and day-to-day legal advisory function support. You will support commercial negotiations, stay updated on industry regulations, manage disputes, develop legal documentation. What you will do:Provide strategic legal advice to the management team on business decisions, contracts, and regulatory implications.Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, company law, and other applicable statutes.Identify potential legal and regulatory risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement robust compliance programs.Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to safeguard the company’s interests.Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring timely filings, audits, and responses to notices.Establish and maintain internal policies to promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.Oversee and manage legal disputes, litigation, and arbitration, coordinating with external counsel as needed.Conduct training sessions for employees to ensure understanding of legal and compliance requirements.Develop monitoring frameworks for senior management on compliance status and legal risks.Assist with any mergers and acquisitions activities in the region. What you will need to have:Hold an internationally recognized law degree with an active license to practice law in Australia. 6 years of experience in providing legal advisory in the technology, payment, banking, or fintech industry.6 years of experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and legal documents.6 years of experience in managing legal disputes and regulatory compliance.Demonstrated success as a lead negotiator and an ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
