Senior Accountant – GP & Inventory An Australia‑wide retail & FMCG group seeks a Senior Accountant to join its Finance Shared Services team (based Adelaide with hybrid work). You will partner with the GP & Inventory / Imports unit to deliver strong financial reporting, insight, and process improvement across import overheads and balance sheet integrity. What you will do Provide timely & insightful reporting of import overheads and selected balance sheet accounts to business unit finance partners Prepare reconciliations: identify outstanding items clearly, ensure documentation & actionable resolution plans Ensure financial controls align with accounting policies & standards Develop & implement lean, efficient operating models through continuous improvement Use systems and tools to reduce manual work and improve accuracy Mentor & manage a small team; foster a high‑performance, collaborative culture What you will bring Accounting degree plus CA or CPA qualification 5‑10 years relevant finance experience (ideally in commercial/imports/inventory environments) Excellent business partnering & communication skills; able to explain complex financials simply Advanced analytical & problem solving capability Track record of driving process improvements Experience with financial systems (Excel, SAP, BPC or similar) Advantageous: skills in SQL, GCP, or Tableau; prior people management experience What you can expect Hybrid working model (office/hub home) A hands‑on role with visible impact across operations & financial control Exposure to a large retail business with opportunities to grow across functions Strong wellbeing programs & competitive leave policies Submit your application early to ensure you’re considered during the initial shortlisting.
