About the opportunity This role is responsible for ensuring the local daily operational plan is achieved, by efficiently using drivers and fleet in a cost effective, safe and customer focused manner. Reporting to the Transport Manager this position will plan, schedule and dispatch all fleet across the Victoria region, ensuring that delivery and pick up runs are achieved within set time frames. Liaise with internal staff members including maintenance, truck drivers, supervisors and management to understand daily plan requirements. Plan, schedule and improvise trucking routes, pick ups and deliveries daily. Give direction and guidance to drivers relating to their daily deliveries and tasks. Communicate with drivers regarding schedules, customer issues, site issues, break downs and any incidents which may impact time frame performance. Monitor the transport department efficiency and seek ways to improve productivity. About your experience You will thrive in a busy environment, with the ability to manage and deliver an effective schedule whilst juggling multiple competing priorities. You will have a strong eye for detail and be confident in interpreting various forms of data. Previous experience within the transport/logistics environment. Understanding of COR and fatigue management laws. Strong people skills, including customer service. Keen eye for detail. High proficiency in computer-based systems, including MS Office. Ultimately, you will need to be an effective communicator with energy and drive, who can collaborate across multiple teams with the ability to develop strong business relationships whilst operating with integrity and trust, and in alignment with our Company values.
