CLASSIFICATION: Apprentice SALARY: A minimum of $827.40 per week 12% employer contribution to superannuation REPORTING TO: Supervisor Electrical, Maintenance & Construction EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Temporary Full Time – up to four years THE POSITION: To assist in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment relating to the supply of water and sewer services to AlburyCity. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Under direction assist in the following: Breakdown and routine maintenance to all electrical installations and related equipment Installation of new equipment as required Electrical repairs to Sewerage and Water Pump Stations Calibration and maintenance of process instrumentation, telemetry and SCADA systems Record keeping for electrical and mechanical equipment including scheduled maintenance records and management systems. Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee’s skill, competence and training. Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS. Qualifications KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Internal Our People External General public Parts and Materials Suppliers EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Based on a 38 hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity’s RDO guidelines. These times may vary due to operational requirements and will be determined by the supervisor. In line with the provisions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023 you will also receive the Level 2, Adverse Working Conditions Allowance. You will be required to enrol and study towards a Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician) as part of the apprenticeship. This position is temporary for a period of up to 4 years. This position is a formal apprenticeship and is regulated by the Apprenticeship & Traineeship Act 2001. Applicants with an equivalent Electrical qualification are ineligible to apply. The position requires a moderate level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake regular physical activities such as walking, lifting, pulling, pushing along with the capacity to maintain normal manual handling tasks across the work day – depending on the nature of the tasks undertaken. The use of relevant work method statements and appropriate WHS standards are an integral part of the role. A full functional and medical assessment is required for this position. This position is subject to pre-employment and ongoing respiratory function testing for potential occupational exposure to asbestos or other hazardous dusts in accordance with AlburyCity procedures. This position is subject to alcohol and other drug testing This position is subject to preemployment and ongoing audiometric (hearing) assessment in accordance with AlburyCity Procedures This position is located at the AlburyCity Mechanical, Electrical and Metering Services Workshop, 850 Jelbart Road, North Albury and daily visits to external sites/depots, and AlburyCity Administration Building as required.
