About the Role: Responsibilities include, but not limited to; Support for Teaching and Learning Activities: Assist teachers and students in classroom tasks, sporting events, school excursions, playground and bus supervision, reading activities, science and practical classes (e.g. cooking, textiles), and locating reference materials. Student Support and Welfare: Provide care and support for students with special needs, including assistance with mobility, and personal care; maintain anecdotal records of student progress; deliver first aid as required (with appropriate training); and display empathy, confidentiality, and respect in all student interactions. Administrative and Clerical Duties: Perform tasks such as typing, photocopying, compiling exam materials, checking bus and class rolls, collecting money, maintaining student records, and supporting off-site activity organisation. Resource and Equipment Management: Assist in the preparation, distribution, maintenance, and storage of teaching materials and equipment, including stocktaking and laundering linens. Teamwork and Communication: Work collaboratively with staff by demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, reliability, tact, and the ability to function effectively within a team environment. Highly desirable skills and exeperience: Experience working with secondary students, particularly in Mathematics. Knowledge of classroom support practices and differentiated learning strategies.
