About the role The Manager, Workplace Health and Safety is the North West Hospital and Health Service's ('NWHHS') key professional and specialist advisor on all matters that fall within the span of responsibility for the Workplace Health and Safety Unit (WHS Unit) within the People, Culture and Planning Directorate. This position will provide high level management and leadership for the core delivery units within the WHS Unit. This accountability spans the core health and safety systems and practice, rehabilitation of employees from work and non-work-related injuries and effective return to work strategies. Requirements While not mandatory, qualifications in work health and safety will be highly regarded. Relevant hands-on experience with more than five (5) years in work health and safety and injury management is required. Occasional travel within the District or State will be necessary to fulfil the role including obligations to complete training, participate in networks, or to conduct health and safety audits/investigations. C Class Motor Vehicle Licence. Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks. This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis. A period of probation may apply.
