Why this role matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) provides a wide range of services that support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer crisis accommodation, counselling, case management and advice to women and children at risk of, experiencing or escaping family violence. Our services focus on prevention, restoration, and healing to provide specialised support to address immediate safety issues and provide advice, referrals, and connection to assist the recovery journey. About the role As an After Hours Support Worker, this is your opportunity to work alongside the specialist FV team to support crisis response and case management services for victim survivors of family violence who access the Salvation Army Family Violence Services (TSA FVS) in the Northern Territory. Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent, part-time position offering 15.2 hours per week, based in Darwin NT. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, Level 4. This role requires the availability to complete evening, sleepover and weekend shifts. How you will make an impact Adults and child victim survivors accessing the service are provided with a welcoming and responsive initial contact and urgent and immediate needs are addressed At initial contact, gather adequate information to support risk assessment and safety planning for victim survivors; and triage services as required Information is provided to Specialist FV Practitioners or Leadership team to assist in assessing and addressing client issues, needs and circumstances In consultation with more Senior Worker/s appropriate preventative action is taken and/or crisis response is provided in relation to potential high risk situations Effective relationships are established with clients that encourage self-determination and participation and support them to improve their situation What you will bring Certificate IV qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field OR demonstrated equivalent knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development Relevant experience in the social services sector A national police record check is required Ochre Card (Working with Children Check) is required Availability to complete evening, sleepover and weekend shifts.
