Application Engineer - Slurry Pumps & Technical Support Talent Mining & Minerals is proud to be recruiting for a leading Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specialising in high-performance slurry pumping solutions for the mining and minerals processing industries. Position Overview This role will suit an engineer with strong technical expertise in slurry pump applications and heavy-duty slurry systems. The successful candidate will provide end-to-end technical support - from selection and sizing to commissioning, troubleshooting, and lifecycle optimisation - while working closely with clients in the mining and minerals processing industries. You'll be the go-to technical partner, ensuring that clients not only receive the right pump solutions but also the ongoing support and insights to maximize performance and reduce downtime. Location Based in Perth, Western Australia Frequent travel to mining and processing sites across Australia Key Responsibilities Slurry Pump Selection & Sizing Analyse slurry characteristics and system conditions to select and size centrifugal slurry pumps. Technical System Integration Collaborate with engineering teams to design and recommend efficient, site-specific pump solutions. Installation, Commissioning & Site Support Provide technical leadership during pump installation and commissioning. Ensure systems are optimised for performance and reliability. Condition Monitoring & Troubleshooting Perform root cause analysis on issues like cavitation, wear, or performance loss. Deliver corrective actions to maximise uptime and lower lifecycle costs. Technical Training & Customer Engagement Deliver training sessions for client engineers and maintenance crews. Build strong technical relationships with site personnel and key decision-makers. Feedback Loop & Product Improvement Provide field insights to the R&D and engineering teams. Contribute to continuous product development and improvement. Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent industry experience) Minimum 5 years' experience with slurry pumps in mining or heavy industry Proven expertise in pump selection, commissioning, and troubleshooting Strong technical knowledge of hydraulics, wear mechanics, and pump materials Hands-on field experience with pump rebuilds, liner changes, and performance tuning Excellent communication and client-facing skills Flexibility to travel frequently across remote mining sites Desirable Qualifications Familiarity with major slurry pump brands Experience with pump diagnostics and performance monitoring tools Previous experience on remote mining sites and challenging environments Apply now or email / call for more information: Email: talentminingandminerals.com Call: 0429555
