About the Role: As a Development Manager, you will play a key role in the strategic planning and delivery of major land development projects. Your primary focus will be on the Molonglo Town Centre Program — Canberra’s next major urban hub designed to support long-term population growth in the region. Development Manager – Major Urban Projects Location: Dickson, ACT (Hybrid Work Environment) 6-Month Contract | Potential for Extension $111.30/hr Super (PAYG) | $124.66/hr (ABN) | Open to Negotiation Full-time | 40 hours per week Start ASAP – Pending Police Check You will: Lead and manage end-to-end project lifecycles from planning to completion Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders Ensure compliance with governance and regulatory frameworks Drive procurement and commercial negotiation activities Influence urban design, sustainability, and placemaking outcomes Deliver high-quality reports, briefings, and project documentation for executive and board-level audiences What You'll Need to Succeed We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and can bring: Proven experience managing major land or urban development projects Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills Sound knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance processes Experience leading multidisciplinary teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong problem-solving capabilities and adaptability Highly Desirable Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Engineering, Project Management, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or similar Experience with ACT or local government land development processes Understanding of affordable housing, sustainable design, and infrastructure planning Construction White Card, Asbestos Awareness, and Silica Awareness (or ability to obtain) Sounds like you - APPLY NOW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates strongly encouraged to apply.
