About the role: An exciting opportunity exists for an Administration Team Leader to join Victoria Police's People Development Command (PDC), overseeing the Accommodation Services Unit. The Command plays a vital role in building the skills, capabilities, and confidence of Victoria Police employees to lead and positively influence the community. Through the delivery of comprehensive training and ongoing development programs, PDC supports police officers, Protective Services Officers (PSOs), and Police Custody Officers (PCOs) from their initial induction through every stage of their career. This position reports directly to the Academy Services Manager and plays a key role in supporting the Command in the management of 276 residential bedrooms and housekeeping services at the Victoria Police Academy. The Team Leader will be responsible for supervising both the accommodation and housekeeping teams, currently comprising six staff members. The role involves overseeing daily operations and ensuring that service delivery meets high standards without compromising site functionality or the strategic objectives of the Command. In addition to operational oversight, the Team Leader will be accountable for maintaining effective practices and processes across the unit, ensuring efficiency, responsiveness, and quality outcomes. A key responsibility includes providing timely and accurate data to management on accommodation-related expenses and allowances, such as Living Away From Home Allowances, to support governance and reporting requirements. Your duties will include: Lead and support the Accommodation and Housekeeping teams to ensure high-quality service delivery Chair regular team meetings, including preparation of agendas and recording of minutes Attendance at weekly branch supervisor meeting on behalf of the unit Implement process improvements and maintain up-to-date standard operating procedures for the unit Prepare relevant paperwork for budget requests and change in processes Oversee and assist with the processing of recruit rental deductions and Living Away From Home Allowances Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including Recruitment, Corporate Payroll, and Contractors. Analyse accommodation capacity and provide timely, accurate data to management to support planning Manage quarterly performance meetings with unit employees as part of the performance progression cycle reporting process Support broader Command initiatives to ensure a safe, secure, and fit-for-purpose residential environment at the Academy About You: The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: The ability to manage competing demands and be highly organised. The ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment. Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across a large and diverse organisation, using strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to continuous improvement. Strong attention to detail An understanding of accommodation, housekeeping and general customer service requirements of the position. Ability to manage own workload and prioritise tasks with minimal supervision. Demonstrated experience using room booking and scheduling software to manage accommodation logistics efficiently Further Information: One full-time fixed term position until 18 September 2027.
