The National Firearms Register (NFR) Program is delivering the most significant reform to Australia's firearms management in 30 years. This four-year program will establish the National Firearms Register by July 2028 through a series of work streams focused on uplifting technical systems, improving data quality, reforming legislation and policy, and driving change management and stakeholder engagement. The Commonwealth, states and territories are working together on this major national business and technology transformation, aimed at enhancing both community and public safety. This fast-paced, complex reform is led by ACIC on behalf of partners. To strengthen delivery capacity, the program is expanding to include dedicated sections for governance, planning and assurance, program delivery and business support. We are seeking an experienced Administration Officer to support the effective operation of the NFR Program. The successful candidate will join a small business unit and play an essential role in a high performing program team. The key duties of the position include Coordinate and maintain program specific sites (e.g., GovTEAMS, SharePoint etc) to ensure information is current and accessible; Maintain stakeholder engagement registers and contact lists to support program coordination and communications; Provide day-to-day support for team logistics, including scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, and managing shared calendars; Support records management, including filing, archiving, document version control, and compliance with information management standards and management of program artefacts within the Content Manager platform; Managing and triaging enquiries and correspondence in shared inboxes; Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the program and business support function. Your skills and capabilities Experience in providing quality business support to a senior leader, large program or branch; Strong written communication and clear verbal communication skills; Excellent organisational, coordination, record-keeping, and liaison skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively; A professional and confident approach when dealing with internal and external stakeholders; Resilience, flexibility, and strong problem-solving skills supported by sound judgement; Work collaboratively with colleagues to support team priorities and outcomes; Proficiency in using a range of Microsoft Office applications, GovTeams and Content Manager to support effective work delivery.
