About the Role We are currently seeking a Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join our team in Scoresby . This is a key role for a proactive HSE professional who enjoys leading culture change, partnering with leaders, and driving continuous improvement in workplace health, safety, and wellbeing. The day to day Your core responsibilities will include: Partnering with management to embed a “safety as a priority” culture aligned with business objectives Developing and implementing HSE programs, including ALS Foundation Standards, Life-Saving Rules, and psychosocial health initiatives Leading compliance activities with regulators, external stakeholders, and industry bodies Monitoring injury trends and driving data-driven safety initiatives Coordinating injury management and proactive return-to-work processes Integrating mental health and wellbeing into WHS systems, working closely with HR and leadership Conducting inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify opportunities for improvement Designing and delivering safety training and inductions to staff and leadership Acting as a trusted advisor to managers on safety, compliance, and injury prevention The essentials We’re looking for a confident HSE professional who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You’ll bring: Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, HR, or related field Demonstrated experience in strategic HSE roles, ideally in a multi-site or high-risk industry Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, WorkSafe regulations, and injury management protocols Proven experience managing psychosocial hazards and mental health in the workplace Leadership experience with the ability to inspire, mentor and develop others Experience managing long-term injury cases and return-to-work program Proven ability to influence stakeholders and foster a safety-first culture Strong communication, training, and coaching skills Proficiency in HSE management systems and compliance reporting Working at ALS The ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
