The key duties of the position include The Role The Capability Management Office (CMO) Manager oversees and provides guidance and leadership to the SME's within the CMO. In this role, the CMO Manager is responsible for: Supporting Land Command, Control, Communications, and Computing (LC4) business outcomes, with a focus on Human Resource (HR) Management, Finance, Procurement and Governance. Acting as the administrative and leadership authority for functions within the CMO. Enabling the LC4 Program to deliver outcomes on time and within budget. Providing a centralised point of delivery to support LC4 operations and business objectives. Raising relevant priorities and issues to the Director and SO1s within the Land C4 team. Performing the role of Assistant Director within the Branch. Engaging and collaborating across the broader Land Capability Division. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate will lead strategic business management and governance functions to enable Land C4 program success by: Leading and mentoring a diverse hybrid workforce of ADF, APS, and contractors to achieve directed business outcomes. Providing governance and project management oversight to ensure compliance with legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks. Managing in-year resources in collaboration with the Land C4 Finance Manager, aligned with Land Capability Division and Defence Finance Group direction. Engaging across multiple stakeholders to understand and support Land C4 resource outputs. Maintaining positive relationships across the workforce to ensure Land C4 interests are enabled across Land Capability Division and the Joint Force. Providing business management guidance to the Director Land C4, ensuring alignment with strategic direction and outputs. Demonstrating a working knowledge of the Defence enterprise and the One Defence Capability System. Drafting and developing strategic Defence policy to support decision-making at the 1 and 2 Star level.
