The key duties of the position include The Role We are currently looking to fill roles in the following Defence teams: Enterprise Governance and Defence Boards (oversight) Enterprise Committees Associate Secretary Group Coordination Unit As a member of one of these teams, you will have the opportunity to work with stakeholders from across Defence and Government to support our senior leadership to deliver on Defence's mission to defend Australia and its national interests. The teams analyses information from diverse sources and develops a range of written products - including briefs and reports - to support decision-making. You will engage with line areas to assist in the development of Ministerial submissions, cabinet submissions, and other briefing material. You will be required to build and sustain effective relationships and work collaboratively to achieve results, seeking opportunities for continuous business improvement. The role requires flexibility in your approach to problem solving, and the ability to adapt to a changing strategic environment. You will be supported by your team lead throughout this process to ensure we can meet our strategic objectives as a team. About our Team The Branch comprises primarily of core governance functions, including the collective management of internal committee business and external boards management. Through the provision of best practice Governance advice across the Enterprise it seeks to uplift governance practices and performance. This encompasses advice and support on Committee Governance inclusive of Board Governance. This Branch leads the development of Governance policy that set the principles, policies and procedures for Defence's decision making, risk management and operation direction. This aims to enhance accountability, transparency, ability to achieve organisational objectives, comply with legislation and manage risks effectively.
