The Role An opportunity has become available for several Enrolled Nurse (Electroconvulsive Therapy and Neurostimulation Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia. You will Adhere to National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards Attend Inpatient Mental Health Units to check relevant paperwork and nursing checklists Liaise with families, carers, and other departments Welcome consumers who are attending for Electroconvulsive Therapy and Neurostimulation (ECT) treatment Monitor consumers post ECT treatment while in recovery, offering support and reassurance About you To be successful in this position you will require: Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia Demonstrated experience as an Enrolled Nurse or a minimum 6-month graduate experience (post registration) Board (NMBA) approved qualification in medication administration. Completion of 519HLTEN A, B or C or 007HLTEN (evidenced by transcript) will be highly regarded Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost) Benefits Flexible work options Career Development Salary Packaging Modern Facilities Diverse Work Culture Research Opportunities 12.75% super 17.5% leave loading Salary Permanent full time and permanent part time (several positions, hrs negotiable) Base salary ranging from $71 234 - $75 602 per annum $35.92 - $38.12 per hour About Us The unit provides clinical assessment and facilitation within a specific area supporting the delivery of Electroconvulsive Therapy for the Gold Coast Mental Health and Specialist Services. Our team works within a framework of best practice and provides evidence based care and education and leadership within this specialist field. The unit provides neurostimulation treatment modalities including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation. The service has close links with the research department and are involved in clinical trials for ketamine to treat depression. The Unit provides Consultation for Mood Disorder, this includes assessment and, education to wider teams and a weekly group for Consumers. The unit provides a weekly depot clinic for antipsychotic medication.
