Disability Empowerment and Support Foundation (DESF) DESF provides staff to various SIL Providers in WA with services from administration to disability support workers. Currently we require Disability Support Workers The position is responsible for ensuring all Participant support, compliance & documentation requirements are met, and the services provided are in-line with the allocated SIL Provider’s Policy and Procedures The specific objectives of this role: To enable the SIL Provider to deliver high quality services to eligible NDIS Participants ensuring they have opportunities to develop and maintain a valued lifestyle as per their individual plan. Day to day operations that assist the SIl Provider’s management in the ongoing care and support outcomes, through the provision of required supports to the Participants Job Role listed below but not limited to Assist people with a disability to undertake activities as per their plan. Provide supports in a courteous, professional, and timely manner. Ensure a safe environment and that participants are free from any forms of abuse and harassment. Support and actively encourage the person’s participation in decision making about their own program. Support a person with their medication or other medical and adhere to the Provider's policies and procedures and instructions from medical practitioners. Assist with all areas of personal care including feeding, bathing, toileting, and grooming. Assist with participant’s mobility including transfers/hoisting etc, Physical support and assistance to participate in activities. Provide support external to the home such as transport for shopping, outing, appointments, and meal preparations within the Provider's expectations. Provide compassionate and effective supports without employing unsanctioned restrictive practices. Identify and report any restrictive practices and report to the Provider's Representative and your DESF manager Provide support in alignment with the Participant’s Behaviour Support Plan. Be aware of and sensitive to the needs of people who are from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background and assist them with their integration and ongoing support. Carry out the Administration Tasks as per the Provider’s requirements but not limited to: Complete Progress notes Update Communication books Complete Shift reports Update Medication forms ad charts Complete Vehicle logs Enter Timesheets Check required emails Food Purchases Any other required documentation To work in the Industry it is Mandatory to obtain NDIS Screening Certificate (this has replaced a Police Clearance) Required before placement: (We may be able to assist in obtaining the following) First Aid, CPR, Manual Handling Medication Administration. Preferred: Minimum of Cert III or IV in Individual Support Experience working with providing daily supports. Demonstrated capability in carrying out tasks for a growing organisation Effective and excellent communication, interpersonal & time management skills Ability to problem solve, prioritise, and complete work related tasks. Ability to establish effective and professional working relationships with others. Skills applicable to recording and managing data, information. Understanding of Policies and Procedures & Continuous Improvement. Understanding Work Health & Safety principles and ensuring these are applied it in the workplace. Current WA Drivers Licence
