Senior API Engineer We’re looking for a Senior API Engineer to help with the design and build of the APIs that power our digital customer experiences. You’ll work with Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, and modern API standards that create secure, reusable, and high-performing services. In this role, you’ll partner with architecture teams to shape our API integration approach, ensuring security, scalability, and great customer outcomes. You’ll also play a key role in promoting best practices in testing, performance, and continuous delivery, with opportunities to work across OpenShift and AWS. We value diversity of thought and experience, whether you’ve followed a traditional engineering path, or taken a different journey into tech, your skills and perspective are welcome here. This is a hybrid role based in Brisbane, with flexibility to work from home two days a week. You’ll make an impact by: Designing, building, and maintaining secure, reusable, and high-performing APIs using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot. Apply API design standards and patterns to ensure consistency, scalability, and maintainability. Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and quality gates to embed resilience and reduce risk. Integrate APIs with identity and access management solutions to enable secure authentication and authorisation. Translate solution designs and architectural blueprints into working APIs that align to enterprise integration standards. Deploy and manage APIs on OpenShift and AWS, ensuring compliance with operational, security, and risk frameworks. Collaborate with architects, security, and platform teams to deliver safe, scalable, and resilient solutions.
