Role Details A Procurement Category Officer at Vinarchy plays a vital role in managing the procurement process across indirect procurement categories This position is based in our fun and dynamic Adelaide CBD office, with the flexibility to work from home. Reporting into the Procurement Manager ANZ, the role is responsible for supporting and managing procurement activities across indirect categories, including fleet administration, goods, services, and related support functions. You will assist in executing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring all procurement aligns with Vinarchy’s commercial objectives. Your Key Accountabilities • Category Strategy Development: Support and implement procurement strategies specific to the wine category. Understand product specifications, market shifts, and emerging trends to ensure cost-effective and high-quality outcomes. • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier partnerships. Negotiate pricing and commercial terms to secure optimal value and service. • Procurement Process Oversight: Manage end-to-end procurement activities — from sourcing to delivery — while ensuring full compliance with policies and regulations. • Cost Management: Monitor costs, review financial data, and identify savings opportunities without compromising product quality. • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Production, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to align procurement plans with business needs. • Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate risks in the supply chain through proactive analysis and planning. • Performance Measurement: Develop and monitor KPIs to assess supplier performance, procurement efficiency, and overall category health. • Sustainability and Compliance: Drive ethical sourcing and sustainability goals in alignment with company values and industry standards. Your Knowledge and Skills Competencies: • Strong organizational and communication skills • Ability to influence and build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups • Proactive, self-motivated, and task-driven • Effective team player • Positive attitude and eagerness to grow professionally Essential Qualifications Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred. • Previous procurement experience, preferably in wine, beverage, or FMCG sectors • Knowledge of supply chain and sourcing practices • Strong analytical, negotiation, and contract management skills • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment • Familiarity with compliance standards and ethical sourcing expectations • Proficient in procurement and ERP systems • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel • Working knowledge of Power BI Sound like your drop?
