Who are we looking for? We are currently looking for a highly experienced and disciplined E ngineering Manager - Rotary Wing (Helicopters) to join our team in Cairns, QLD . Position Summary Leading, mentoring, and managing a team of licensed engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff to ensure the safe and efficient execution of aircraft maintenance activities. Overseeing daily maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with company regulatory standards. Developing, implementing, and monitoring maintenance schedules, manpower planning, and quality assurance processes. Collaborating closely with planning, quality, and supply chain teams to optimise maintenance efficiency and minimise aircraft downtime. Driving continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and operational performance. Providing technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and performance evaluations for engineering personnel. Managing budgets, resources, and workflow priorities to meet operational and business goals. Ensuring that documentation, certifications, and records are accurate and up to date in compliance with regulatory requirements. The essential requirements Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent recognised qualification). Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or management role related to aircraft maintenance or in an aviation industry. Strong technical background in line and base maintenance, with preferred exposure to rotary wing helicopters (e.g. Bell 212/412, 407, BK117, H145, Leonardo AW139, Eurocopter Series or ATR) In-depth knowledge of CASA Part 145 and aviation maintenance regulations. Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate engineering teams in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required to support operational needs. Shifts run Monday to Friday.
