About the opportunity A term contract, full-time opportunity exists for a motivated Resource Management Enforcement Officer for up to 20 months. This role requires a self starter to undertake an exciting project to reduce illegal dumping in local hot spots, and offers a unique opportunity to deliver a large scale community behaviour change project at the largest Council in NSW. The project involves working with the community to reduce the amount of household clean up material that is incorrectly disposed of. Throughout this project you will work with various community groups, real estate and other departments. You will be responsible for investigating reports of illegal dumping, gathering evidence and working with internal and external stakeholders. Join a great team who delivers change to our community! Qualifications and experience Essential: Certificate IV or diploma qualification in environment, educational or community regulation disciplines or related field Solid experience required in local government and/or development of strategies and policies Demonstrated experience and skills in the research, analysis, development and management of projects, plans and policies Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations, write correspondence, complex reports and applications Strong time management skills essential, with proven ability to manage several projects at once, prioritise accordingly, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines Current class C driver’s licence. Desirable: Ability to interpret and implement relevant regulation and policy and ensure Council’s processes and procedures comply Well-developed negotiation skills and conflict resolution capabilities Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills Availability to work flexible working hours Ability to work within a team environment. Remuneration and benefits The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
