About the opportunity We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic first or second year student to join our Asset Planning and Support team as a Student Engineer. This opportunity allows you to continue your studies while gaining valuable industry experience. You will benefit from a diverse rotational experience across a variety of sections within Council, along with financial support to assist you throughout your academic journey. This entry-level position offers a solid foundation in engineering, where you will work on a term contract, part-time basis until you graduate from university. As a Student Engineer, you will contribute to the development, monitoring and implementation of Asset Management Planning Strategies and Plans. You will also provide information to Council staff and the community, and collaborate with other internal teams and external organisations. Build your future while helping shape the city! Qualifications and experience Essential: Currently enrolled as a first or second year student, with the intention of completing relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Desirable: Experience in local government civil construction/design Ability to work in a team environment Current class C driver's licence. Remuneration and benefits The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
