Permanent full-time positions – 7/7 Rotating Roster Residential role 45 mins from Toowoomba Operate mobile mining equipment and provide dispatch relief The New Acland Coal Mine (NAC), a thin seam open cut mining operation is owned and managed by New Hope Group. NAC is based 35km north-west of Toowoomba and plays a key role in the Darling Downs region as an employer and economic contributor since it began operation in October 2002. About the role: As NAC continues to grow, we are now seeking Production Mineworkers with dispatch experience to join our team, on a permanent, full-time basis. Working a 7/7 day / night rotating roster and reporting to the Mining Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe, productive, and efficient operation of a variety of mobile mining equipment. In addition to operating you will provide relief coverage in the dispatch / noise room where you will assist with monitoring noise levels, environment conditions, and production schedules within the mining operations. The fleet of equipment at NAC includes Hitachi EX3600 & EX5600 excavators; CAT 785, 789 & 793 trucks; CAT D10 & D11 dozers; CAT 16H & 24H graders, LeTourneau 1150 & 1350 loaders and CAT 992 loaders. To be considered for these opportunities you will bring: 3 years’ experience in operating Mobile Mining Equipment in Open Cut Coal Mine Understanding of key production metrics and the drive to meet targets Previous experience working in a control room / dispatch Advanced computer skills including MS Office / Excel and data analysis software Experience with working Day / Night Rosters and an ability and willingness to operate all mobile equipment To be successful in this role, it is important that you have: A strong safety mindset with ability to actively identify and report hazards/incidents Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Enthusiasm to positively contribute to site culture and work as a team High attention to detail and precision in executing tasks Ability to work well under pressure Ability to undergo and pass a coal board medical Ability to work a rotating 7/7 day / night roster including weekends and night shift The ability to contribute to and work as part of team in a fast-paced environment What we offer At NAC we make the health, safety, and well-being of our people our absolute priority and we are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment with the core objective that our people go home at the end of the day unharmed.
