Senior Db2 LUW Database Administrator As a Senior Db2 LUW Database Administrator, your key focus will be the multi-year Core2Cloud Core Re-platform project to transition the current Core Banking System database from Db2 z/OS over to Db2 LUW on AWS. You will provide Db2 LUW and AWS technical expertise to ensure the successful design, build and implementation of the AWS platform and Data Migration activities. Your role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, stability, availability, and performance of the organisation’s Core Banking Db2 LUW database on AWS. This position is open to Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, with the flexibility to work from home two days a week. You’ll make an impact by: Provide senior technical expertise to support the design, installation, configuration, performance tuning, data migration and successful implementation of the Core Banking System database from target state Db2 z/OS onto future state Db2 LUW (AWS RDS for Db2). Perform issue investigation, technical support, general consultation, problem identification, service restoration, remediation and resolution of incidents on the Core Banking System within service level agreements. Ensure high availability, stability, data integrity and performance of the Core Banking System on Db2 LUW. Implement and monitor database performance and recommend tuning improvements for operational efficiency. Monitor databases regularly to check for any errors such as existing locks and failed updates. Ensure the Db2 LUW database security, monitoring and user access is compliant with data governance and security standards defined in the Great Southern Bank policies and guidelines. Implement database recovery, backup, data refreshes and standard housekeeping tasks. Oversee utilisation of data and log files. Maintain disaster recovery procedures. Participate in the Db2 LUW Database Administrator 24x7 On-Call support roster to provide operational support across Production and Non-Production environments, in conjunction with the vendor and Great Southern Bank technical and business specialists. Apply standard ITIL practices to deliver to expected or agreed service availability and performance levels. Ensure preventative maintenance, patching and upgrades are carried out on the Core Banking Db2 LUW Database systems in accordance with Great Southern Bank policies and guidelines. Do things differently with us To succeed in this role, you will have: Proven experience working as a Db2 Database Administrator on Db2 LUW Experience with Linux particularly RedHat Experience with AWS technologies like EC2 and SecretsManager Experience working with AWS RDS for Db2 (or another database) Strong technical skillset with an understanding of database architecture, indexing, partitioning, and replication Experience with monitoring and automation tools Experience with database performance tuning and optimisation Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) Familiarity with AWS backup and recovery strategies Proven experience in installing Db2 LUW releases, patches, upgrades, management and maintenance Proven experience in the identification and knowledge of security issues, access controls and auditing for Db2 LUW Experience using Privileged Access Management platforms like CyberArk is desirable Strong knowledge of Db2 z/OS, CICS, REXX and JCL is highly desirable Ability to participate in a 24x7 On-Call support roster Previous experience with the TCS BaNCS Core Banking product or another Core Banking system is advantageous Why Great Southern Bank?
