About the Role We’re seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer who brings a blend of site-based experience and design expertise to join our growing Perth engineering team. If you’ve spent time on site and know what works in practice but you’re ready to move into a more office-based design leadership role (with the occasional trip to site) this is your opportunity to make that transition while staying connected to real project delivery. You’ll work across major renewable and infrastructure projects, leading electrical design development from concept through to commissioning, collaborating closely with our in-house engineering and delivery teams as well as clients and vendors. What You’ll Be Doing Lead the design, documentation, and verification of PV and electrical systems for large-scale renewable projects. Prepare and review detailed design documentation including SLDs, layout drawings, equipment sizing, interface wiring, I/O lists, calculations, and technical reports. Provide engineering support for substations, protection systems, and grid connections, applying your practical site knowledge to ensure designs are truly buildable. Conduct and review power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, earthing) using tools such as DIgSILENT, ETAP, CDEGS, or CYMCAP. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to ensure seamless handover from design to delivery. Offer technical input during procurement, FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, and site inspections when required. About You Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (essential). 10 years’ experience in electrical design across large-scale PV, infrastructure, or utilities projects. Proven exposure to HV/MV substation design, grid connection, and protection systems . Strong grasp of both AC and DC systems , with practical understanding gained from time spent on site. Excellent communication skills and confidence working with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams. Ready to Join Us?
