About The Role We're looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our Data and Analytics Team. You will contribute to the design, development and maintenance of our new cloud Enterprise Data Warehouse. You will help drive the vision, evolution, and innovation of the data warehouse and data governance initiatives. The end goal is to deliver accurate, consistent, reliable data to support business intelligence, data insights, machine learning solutions and business-wide data-led decision-making that will help revolutionise our business. What You'll Do Play a key role in building the data foundations at Gumtree Group that facilitate analytics, reporting and AI rollout at scale Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming and storing data using DBT and BigQuery Conducting SQL data investigations, optimisations, and troubleshooting pipeline-related issues Participate in peer code reviews and produce high-quality documentation Implement and support monitoring and alerting solutions for data quality, pipeline health, and performance metrics Adhere to technology standards, data governance, privacy policies and IT security standards What you'll bring 3 years experience in data engineering, including ETL processes, data modelling, and data warehouse development in cloud environments Experience in the design, development and support of Enterprise Data Warehouses Advanced SQL experience for data transformation and querying Hands-on experience working with DBT and BigQuery Experience in troubleshooting and addressing production defects, bug fixes and supporting ETL pipelines Experience working with large volumes of data and transforming it for optimal business use and ETL performance (time and cost) Experience in CI/CD and with GCP Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Proficiency in Python is a plus What you'll get 24/7 access to Sonder for you and your family—because your wellbeing matters Flex your schedule with hybrid work, flexible hours, and the freedom to work from anywhere for 4 weeks a year A $150 monthly allowance toward your preferred health insurance, plus exclusive Bupa discounts 20 weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks for secondary caregivers—we support all kinds of families A Learning and Development budget to fuel your growth and help you level up Your birthday off—yes, it's all about you Regular team events and fortnightly socials so you can connect, unwind, and have a little fun along the way Let's Do This!
