The Opportunity This role is available as either a permanent Section 26 transfer or a 12-month non-ongoing opportunity with the potential for permanency. The position offers daily variety and the chance to build strong relationships across multiple teams and stakeholders. You’ll work closely with managers, finance teams, and other key partners to resolve complex issues and interpret accounting standards. The Role Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Record journal entries related to leases, including right-of-use assets, lease liabilities, and reconciliations Prepare lease-related notes, disclosures, and reporting for financial statements, including month-end, soft-close, and year-end Verify lease documentation for completeness and accuracy Review lease agreements to assess accounting impacts and key terms Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure lease data is accurately captured and maintained Support internal and external audits by providing lease-related documentation and responding to inquiries The Ideal Person We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting skills with curiosity, initiative, and a collaborative mindset. You’ll have a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce and be progressing towards your CA or CPA. You have a strong interest in the technical side of accounting and may already have had exposure to lease accounting requirements. You’re confident using tools like Microsoft Excel and ERP systems, and you bring excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to your work. Clear communication comes naturally, and you enjoy working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to solve problems and improve processes. To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen and hold at least a Baseline security clearance. Ideally, you will also have an existing NV1 clearance.
