Overview Cevo is a born in the cloud, highly awarded IT specialist consultancy providing a wide range of services to enterprise and government customers throughout Australia. Established in 2016, we are searching for our next Principal Consultant to join our growing team in either Sydney or Melbourne. This role will provide expert-level architecture guidance, problem-solving support, and technical mentorship to consultants while collaborating with the sales team to continue to extend and grow customer engagements. The Principal Consultant - Data role requires a broad and far-reaching expertise in data and data practices in a variety of environments including AWS. It would be expected that a consultant in this role will be responsible for defining and championing data strategy, presales and data literacy both internally and within our customer environments. Responsibilities Provide expert-level architecture guidance, problem-solving support, and technical mentorship to consultants. Collaborate with the sales team to extend and grow customer engagements. Define and champion data strategy, presales activities, and data literacy within Cevo and customer environments. Lead data-related initiatives and contribute to the development of data programs across environments including AWS. Qualifications Prior experience working as data engineering/databases background, ideally in a Principal Consultant or Guiding role. Strong knowledge of AWS. Strong experience with Redshift, SageMaker Studio, Snowflake. Prior experience leading a Data Community of Practice and associated activities. Industry thought leader regarding Data and Analytics, including attending and presenting at events. Career background as a DBA in large-scale environments with 20 years of experience in complex data environments; knowledge of modern data frameworks such as data mesh/data grid; ability to architect and design comprehensive data programs.
