As part of our Resources Market sales team growth, we are seeking a Business Development Leader to drive strategic growth and deepen client partnerships across the mining landscape. This role is pivotal in shaping Jacobs' market presence by identifying opportunities, building enduring relationships, and delivering integrated solutions that reflect our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and community impact. Key Responsibilities This role reports directly to the ANZ Resources Market Director and works closely with the broader Growth & Sales team, delivery leads, and account managers across Jacobs. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to strategic planning, sales pipeline development, and client engagement initiatives that align with Jacobs regional and global resources strategy. Lead business development efforts across the mining and resources sector, with a particular focus on iron ore, rare earth metals and emerging commodities. Create and manage a solid pipeline of opportunities with Tier 1 mining companies, ensuring Jacobs is positioned as a strategic partner of choice. Collaborate with global and regional delivery teams to co-create tailored solutions addressing client challenges in decarbonisation, digital enablement, and operational efficiency. Drive commercial and contractual alignment across pursuits and engagements. Act as a trusted advisor, fostering deep, multi-level relationships with client stakeholders. Champion Jacobs values in all client engagements. Identify and mentor account teams, cultivating a culture of collaboration and innovation. Monitor market trends and client strategies to proactively position Jacobs for future opportunities. Here's what you'll need 10 years of experience in consultancy, sales, business development, or client account management within the mining industry. Strong network and credibility in Australia’s mining sector, ideally with deep ties to the iron ore market. Proven ability to lead strategic pursuits and deliver value through integrated, multidisciplinary solutions. Tertiary qualifications in engineering, business, or a related field. Passion for sustainability, digital transformation, and workforce development in mining.
