The Role Bring womenswear designs to life by stitching and finishing samples to a premium standard, from cut pieces through to final garment. Key Responsibilities Sew and finish womenswear samples across a range of fabrics (silk, viscose, crepe, denim, stretch) with impeccable construction and fit. Apply stitching details, trims, and embellishments (e.g., top-stitching, French seams, baby hems, coverstitch) with consistent quality control at every stage. Balance speed with precision to meet sample room timelines without compromising make quality. Support production where required: create occasional production samples and assist with ad-hoc cutting, alterations, and repairs. Prepare and package finished garments to brand standard, ready for fittings and buyer/editor reviews. Collaborate closely with Design & Technical teams—provide make/fit feedback, flag construction challenges, and suggest improvements aligned to the womenswear customer. About You Proven experience as a sewing/sample machinist (womenswear strongly preferred). Expert handling of industrial machines (straight-stitch, overlocker, coverstitch) and confident hand-finishing. Calm, collaborative communicator who contributes to a positive, can-do sample room culture. Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and pride in garment finish. Comfortable reading specs/tech packs and working to brand quality standards. Benefits Relaxed, warm, and friendly environment with a tight-knit team. Flexible workplace and hours. Centrally located studio with easy transport access. How to Apply Send your CV/folio or reach out for a confidential chat with Zali at zalioulton@jivaro.com.au
