Who we are The Heritage, History and Collections section sits within the High Office Support Team (HOST) in PM&C. The section is responsible for preserving and transmitting the tangible and intangible heritage values of the Prime Minister's Official Residences-The Lodge and Kirribilli House-for the Australian public and other relevant stakeholders. Our parent team, HOST, is a small section that looks after the Official Residences and supports former Governors-General and relevant Ministerial Offices. What you will do As a Heritage and Collections Officer at the APS6 Level, you will be responsible for providing accurate and technically robust work across policy and project implementation areas under limited supervision and, on occasion, under time-pressure. You will: Draft and deliver best practice internal policies and procedures across both the heritage and collections spaces Manage projects in heritage management, collection management and conservation for both Official Residences to completion Provide timely heritage advice on potential site works at both Official Residences Assist with the delivery and implementation of legislative documents under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) Care for, catalogue and provide ongoing research on the Official Residences Collection. The key duties of the position include Our ideal candidate will have: Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in the heritage and collections sector Strong analytical and written communication skills The judgement to manage competing priorities with limited supervision A demonstrated ability to solve problems with intellectual rigour, efficacy and pragmatism.
