Challenger Life – Investment Summer Internship Location: Sydney, Australia Duration: 8 weeks (Summer 2025) Challenger is focused on providing Australians with financial security for retirement. We are now inviting applications for our 2025/2026 Summer Internship Program within the Challenger Life Investments Team. This 8-week paid program, commencing late November 2025, is designed for penultimate-year Undergraduate or Master’s students from diverse backgrounds who are looking to build a career in investment management. From day one, you will be involved in meaningful projects that set you up for success. About the opportunity The internship sits within Challenger Life, which manages more than $25 billion of assets across fixed income, alternatives, property, equities and infrastructure You will rotate through core investment areas gaining hands-on exposure to portfolio management, research and valuation across multiple asset classes. Projects may include market research, return analysis, and portfolio reporting, ranging from ad-hoc tasks to longer-term assignments. Alongside technical experience, you will benefit from structured training, mentoring, and a dedicated buddy, as well as opportunities to expand your professional network. Skills and experience Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or master’s degree (Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering or similar), with strong academic results. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. A genuine interest in investment management, shown through coursework, extracurricular activities or prior internships.
