About the role Expressions of interest are invited from permanent or temporary members of staff interested in a secondment to the position of Roads Manager for a period up to 12 months. This secondment role reports directly to the Director Engineering. The Roads Manager holds a strategic leadership role in the end-to-end delivery of road and stormwater infrastructure projects, from initial investigations through to construction completion. With oversight spanning planning, design, specification, stakeholder engagement, and project execution. The Roads Manager ensures infrastructure initiatives are delivered sustainably and in alignment with the long-term aspirations outlined in the Community Strategic Plan. As Roads Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary teams across civil design, project management and infrastructure renewal, oversee the full lifecycle of capital works projects from investigation and design through construction to close-out, and proactively forward-plan programs to separate design and construction across financial years to reduce delivery risk. You will also be responsible for delivering projects safely and sustainably, meeting scope, budget and schedule targets, provide strategic input into infrastructure planning, approvals and reporting as well as champion continuous improvement, digital innovation and customer-focused service delivery.
