Job Description Senior Network Engineer – Cloud & Enterprise Migration About the client: Our client is a leading organisation delivering complex network solutions for government and enterprise environments. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and migrating large-scale network infrastructures using IBM cloud technologies. About the role: We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong expertise in routing, firewalls, and cloud networking. You’ll lead the design, installation, and migration of LAN/WAN solutions, working independently and collaboratively to deliver seamless outcomes across multiple sites. Key Responsibilities: • Investigate and analyse existing networks faor government entities, focusing on IBM cloud technologies. • Design, install, and configure switches, routers, and firewalls for large-scale environments. • Lead migration activities, including direct link migration to Juniper/IBM Transit Gateway. • Establish GRE tunnels between firewalls and Transit Gateway. • Write and maintain engineering designs, technical specifications, and migration documentation. • Coordinate cutover and migration activities across teams. • Debug, diagnose, and resolve errors to ensure seamless migration. • Provide technical advice and guidance on migration approaches. • Work with cloud routers, Megaport services, Power workspaces, and transit gateway connections. Required Experience: • 3–5 years’ experience in IBM cloud technologies. • Strong background in routing protocols, LAN/WAN design, and network security policies. • Experience with ACLs, NAT, GRE tunnels, and flow. • Proven ability to write engineering designs and technical documentation. • Experience with large-scale network installation and migration. • Australian citizenship and AGSVA baseline security clearance. Desirable Skills: • Excellent communication and stakeholder management. • Ability to work in agile team environments. • Migration experience with Juniper/IBM Transit Gateway is advantageous.
