About usThe Australian and Queensland governments have jointly committed $9 billion, an 80:20 funding arrangement, for the Bruce Highway Targeted Safety Program (BHTSP), marking the largest single investment in the highway to date. This initiative aims to reduce crash severity and frequency, particularly between Gympie and Cairns, through measures such as wide centre line treatments, audio tactile line marking, intersection upgrades, rest areas, pavement strengthening, overtaking lanes, and upgrades to narrow structures, with completion targeted by 2030. It builds on over $6 billion in planned investment under the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) 2024-25 to 2027-28. Project prioritisation will be guided by the Bruce Highway Advisory Council and both levels of government with a corridor-wide fatigue management strategy informing rest area and stopping place upgrades. You will provide high level advice to the Director on the program performance, through the coordination of project reviews and the monitoring and analysing of vital program indicators including key milestones and project financials. You will also monitor and assess the implementation of business improvementprocesses associated with program management to assist with delivery of a significant infrastructure program of works. Some of your responsibilities will include:- Monitor and report on the financial and physical progress of the projects and program delivery against established performance indicators, including reported savings and recommending any corrective actions required to realign to the QTRIP deliverables.- Undertake project reviews in conjunction with other QTRIP officers including program/project managers to audit and assess compliance against established and statewide project and program management systems and processes.- Provide specialist advice to the Director and assist with ensuring the program development and management aligns with government priorities and the outcomes sought by the department.- Develop and grow positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate active cooperation and coordination of project initiatives.- Undertake research for projects to understand current and emerging trends both throughout government and other related sectors, to inform business decisions.- Research and write and/or review project communications, reports, briefing notes, submissions, and other correspondence on behalf of the Director, in accordance with project requirements.- Coordinate the updates on project activities and initiatives as advised by the Director to ensure that business outcomes, performance indicators, deliverables and deadlines are achieved.
