Your Impact You’ll be joining our Sydney office as part of the Social, Healthcare, and Public Entities (SHaPE) team. You will aid SHaPE practice leaders in delivering the client activation mission, supporting the overall client activation strategy and related priority proposal opportunities. You will collaborate with the practice leadership and management team and consultants on leading priority proposals. Alongside your alignment to SHaPE, you will be part of McKinsey’s Proposal Services path, a global community focused on growing our existing and new client relationships by enabling efficient and effective proposal delivery. You will collaborate with other colleagues (e.g., client development advisors, proposal strategists, designers, competitive insights specialists, etc.) to shape our thinking on proposal best practices and drive continuous improvement. You will play a pivotal role in the Australian go-to-market team, supporting consultant teams in co-creating distinctive proposals and related materials. You will be coordinating the proposal document and process under the guidance of Proposal Managers or Specialists, ensuring timely and high-quality content creation, gathering feedback, and managing review cycles. You will interpret RFP requirements and advise consultant teams on industry best practices for crafting compliant and compelling proposals. Additionally, you will assemble and edit proposal drafts, finalize formatting and layout, and develop content for non-technical sections such as organizational experience, team structure, staffing, risk management, CVs, and reference cases. Drawing on the full range of firm assets and capabilities, you will ensure each proposal reflects the best of the organization. You will also manage proposal performance systems, facilitate reviews with Risk, Legal, and other firm functions, and contribute to strengthening the firm’s proposal knowledge base through documentation and case studies. Embedded within consultant and proposal teams via an agile operating model, you will gain client context and help create compelling proposal documents, materials, and experiences. Your Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 2-4 years of experience in a client services setting, with experience in one or more of: proposal management, Australian public sector, client development, business development, communications. Experience with Australian government procurement policies and processes is desirable Demonstrated ability to produce compliant, compelling, and responsive proposals Basic understanding of professional services client development Proven project management skills Strong conceptual and analytical problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Results-oriented; entrepreneurial and self-driven Collaborative; able to build relationships and influence stakeholders across roles and levels High professional and ethical standards and respect for confidentiality Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal (e.g., ability to synthesise and convey complex information clearly and compellingly) Before we jump into the responsibilities of the role.
