The key duties of the position include What you will do as the General Manager - AER Compliance and Enforcement The General Manager is responsible for developing and providing strategic advice to the AER Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the AER Board on compliance and enforcement across retail and wholesale energy markets and energy networks. Through their leadership of the Compliance and Enforcement branch, the General Manager ensures the AER acts to increase industry compliance and stop harmful behaviour. The General Manager leads an integrated, professional team to deliver compliance and enforcement outcomes that support the achievement of the AER's purpose to make all energy consumers better off, now and in the future. The General Manager has excellent interpersonal skills enabling them to work collaboratively with senior decision makers throughout the organisation. They will have strong communication and negotiation skills to ensure they work effectively with stakeholders in achieving relevant compliance and enforcement outcomes. The General Manager will report to the Executive General Manager of the Compliance, Enforcement and Surveillance Division and work closely with the AER Chair, Board and Senior Management to ensure that the functions of the AER are undertaken efficiently and effectively.
