About the role We are seeking candidates who are highly experienced and looking to expand their legal administrative career, and are enthusiastic and willing to learn. Fundamentally, a strong work ethic and a desire to work as part of a team and provide professional administrative service to lawyers, is essential. As a Senior Legal Assistant, you will: train, develop and mentor other legal support staff under the guidance of the Legal Support Manager or National Coordinator assist the Legal Support Manager or National Coordinator manage the day-to-day operation of the legal support team take on new and complex requests, identifying opportunities to improve processes be a role model for junior staff members maintain legal files and assist with client enquiries manage lawyers' diaries and travel provide high quality legal and administrative support, taking an active role in assisting our lawyers to deliver a high standard of legal services to our clients assist with preparation, and in some cases draft, documents relevant to your role and send these to clients, courts, tribunals or other bodies ensure administrative procedures such as client billing and reporting are completed efficiently and comply with relevant AGS requirements have a proven ability to work well in a team provide all-round legal support and assistance as required. To be successful in this role you will have: at least 3 years' legal administrative experience, in a law firm or similar legal environment, and experience in training and mentoring staff interest and experience in legal administrative roles, good attention to detail and a professional approach, including the ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy a genuine commitment and ability to deliver high quality client service well-developed written and oral communication skills good knowledge of common software applications (e.g. Word, Outlook, Adobe), and advanced technical skills in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint as well as legal practice software systems such as Mattersphere, Elite, iManage, Desksite or Filesite a team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to the success of the team a genuine interest in developing your administrative skills further, with a focus on learning and improving processes as you grow within the role.
