This is a Prosecutions Officer role with Australian Taxation Office based in Sydney, NSW, AU Australian Taxation Office Role Seniority - mid level More about the Prosecutions Officer role at Australian Taxation Office We are seeking highly motivated Prosecutors to join our Fraud and Criminal Behaviours (FCB) business area to appear in court on behalf of the Commissioner. In FCB, we drive holistic solutions to counter deliberate, systemic or complex behavioural issues that pose the biggest threats to the integrity of the tax and super systems. Our Prosecutions area plays a vital role in achieving a fair and equitable taxation system, providing security, redress and certainty for taxpayers through the fair, consistent and just application of the rule of law. We prosecute offences including: failure to comply with requirements under taxation law, including failing to lodge income tax and GST returns failure to answer questions when attending before the Commissioner recklessly making false or misleading statements incorrectly keeping records with intention of deceiving or misleading. As a Prosecutions Officer (APS 4), in FCB, you will carry a prosecution case load and progress cases within established case cycle times. You will play a fundamental role in helping us to meet our commitments to government and maintain community confidence in the integrity of the tax system. These roles may require travel and a current Australian driver’s licence is essential. These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Adelaide, Brisbane CBD, Melbourne CBD, Perth or Sydney CBD.
