As a Project Manager, your key duties may include: Providing leadership and management to a multi-disciplined project team, coordinating project activities including support to strategic planning, governance functions and human resource. Accountability for managing and leading a team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility and guiding and developing people. Responsibility for management of schedule, risk, budget and resources, preparation of briefings, submissions, reports and returns relating to the project progress and issues in accordance with organisational requirements. Applying established technical, operational, professional and administrative activities, procedures, practices and project management methodologies. Identifying risks, opportunities, and take account of these in planning, decision-making and priority setting. Analysing and interpreting project performance against agreed plans, develop, and evaluate strategies to achieve project outcomes. Taking the initiative to resolve issues by identifying and developing ideas through analysis of alternative courses of action and their implications. Building and sustaining stakeholder engagement, including the ability to communicate with influence and negotiate effectively. Influencing and motivating team members and actively leading group activities. Being accountable to manage a range of project activities and coordinate project inputs in accordance with organisational practices, methods and standards appropriate to the complexity of the project. Preparing correspondence, briefs and reports as required including submissions and documents for higher delegate and committee consideration. Interpreting and ensuring compliance with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.
