About the Role In this role you will be delivering proactive and reactive maintenance on council-owned trees across the city. This includes tree pruning and removal, habitat management, planting and establishment of new trees, and operating equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and elevated work platforms (EWPs). You’ll also support tree risk assessments and contribute to maintaining accurate records using our tree management systems. This is a role that requires safety-first thinking, technical skill, and a strong sense of teamwork. About You You’ll need qualifications in Arboriculture, a current MR (Medium Rigid) licence, and an Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket (>11m) to get started. You’ve spent a few years working in arboriculture and feel confident handling everything from pruning and removals to risk assessments and using machinery like chippers, chainsaws, and EWPs. Someone who’s happy to share knowledge and support your team is important. Most of all, you take pride in your work, follow safety procedures, and care about keeping the community and environment safe and looking good. Incumbents in these positions will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical and functional assessment (including drug & alcohol screen) as well as undertaking a National Criminal History Clearance or DCSI Clearance.
