Overview Join to apply for the General Manager role at Queensland Government . Lead transformative change in Queensland’s housing and homelessness sector. This role focuses on developing and managing innovative and accountable programs related to the department's investment in homelessness and housing services, in collaboration with non-profit, for-profit, and government partners to improve long-term outcomes for individuals in need of housing support. Responsibilities Lead the accelerated delivery of key initiatives, including developing and implementing innovative solutions and projects to assist Queenslanders in accessing and remaining in social housing and the private housing market. Oversee the development and management of innovative programs related to housing and homelessness services, collaborating with partner organisations to create a more efficient and integrated service system. Build partnerships, enhance capability with industry partners, and manage large-scale investments on behalf of the department. Drive program reform to ensure government investment delivers measurable outcomes for Queensland communities and address homelessness effectively. Lead a branch of 150 FTE, manage a $670 million budget, oversee up to 90 programs and projects, and engage with over 200 service providers. Develop procurement and contract management strategies in partnership with Commonwealth and State Governments; engage with homelessness and community housing sectors to meet diverse community needs. Foster collaboration with peak bodies and service providers to build sector capacity and address housing needs of high-need clients (including young people, people with disabilities, older Queenslanders, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander households). Guide the branch in developing innovative approaches to housing and homelessness challenges; oversee policies, performance management systems, and provide expert advice to senior leadership on portfolio management and service effectiveness. Promote a collaborative, high-performing culture to support the department's vision of safe, secure, and affordable housing for all Queenslanders; drive modernisation of the housing service system with integrated strategy, policy, program design, and service delivery. What We Are Looking For A proven leader in a large, complex organisation (government, private sector, or not-for-profit) with outstanding leadership ability. Extensive experience leading and implementing programs that deliver housing and homelessness services aligned with government policy direction. A strong background in stakeholder engagement, strategy, and policy implementation in complex environments.
