Full time 12-month fixed term Provide strategic financial leadership and expert advice, driving performance analysis, process improvements, and value-added financial services as a trusted business partner across the University Offering a competitive remuneration package including 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Associate Director Finance applies extensive knowledge, professional know-how and experience in the exercise of cost controls and the provision of decision support, strategic and commercial financial advice, insightful business and financial performance analysis and management reporting, financial process improvement and change management and support to the Finance Director, VC Office, DVCs, VPs, PSU Heads and Portfolio management. The position is expected to deploy excellent leadership (including team leadership), collaboration and relationship management skills in order to be recognised as a valued business partner. Your key responsibilities will be: to provide effective management of a team of finance professionals, provide effective financial leadership and advice including value-added strategic business advice, operational financial management and change management support to the VC Office, DVCs, VPs, PSU Heads and their senior management teams to ensure the provision of insightful strategic analysis and advice for decision support management and development of staff to oversee development of budgets and forecasts for many Portfolios of clients to contribute to the development and implementation of structures, strategies, policies and procedures for the effective and efficient delivery of Financial Services to the DVC and PSU Portfolios operational management of all portfolio financial activities. About you advanced accounting and management reporting skills ability to develop and implement best practice procedures and policies using own body of knowledge and experience proven track record of innovative and versatile problem solving highly developed commercial business acumen and analytical skills excellent people management, client relationship management, inter-personal, negotiation and influencing skills demonstrated ability to produce quality financial outputs and meet reporting deadlines demonstrated ability to analyse, interpret and integrate complex data and provide strategic direction and analysis to senior management membership of the Australian Society of CPA or Institute of Chartered Accountants.
