Overview Position Title: Project Director Position Purpose The Project Director will lead one or more project teams, holding overall responsibility for the successful planning, delivery, and completion of construction projects. This includes operational oversight, contract compliance, and adherence to company standards. This role will be engaged from early bid discussions through to project handover, working closely with the Project Manager to define project parameters and ensure smooth execution. Acting as the key point of contact for the client (with day-to-day management handled by the Project Manager), the Project Director ensures client requirements are understood and delivered. As part of the senior operations leadership team, this role plays a pivotal part in the safe and efficient delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects. Key Accountabilities Safely deliver wind farm and other renewable energy projects on time, within budget, and in line with contractual and corporate requirements. Collaborate with sales teams during pre-sales to assess feasibility, scope, and provide technical input. Implement and maintain project and construction management systems to ensure best practices are applied across the portfolio. Manage changes to project scope, schedules, and budgets using effective change control processes. Monitor and report on project performance using appropriate tools and metrics. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Lead and manage construction management staff and resources across the project portfolio. Ensure smooth transition from construction phase to operational service. Identify and manage project risks, issues, and resolutions. Oversee project cost controls and site expenditure. Prepare and present regular progress reports, including milestones, timeline variances, and safety compliance. Drive compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across all projects. Foster cross-functional collaboration and communication across the business. Deliver projects within approved budgets and ensure cost efficiency in all site activities. Qualifications & Experience Education Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications highly regarded. Trade qualifications or diplomas considered an advantage. Experience 10 years’ experience managing large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects. Extensive exposure to wind energy. Proven leadership and people management skills. Strong background in risk management. Sound commercial acumen and contractual knowledge. Understanding of cultural diversity in project environments. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to translate strategic goals into operational actions. Skilled in monitoring and delivering on KPIs.
