Overview Network Consulting are working with a global manufacturing company within the print and packaging industry to help find their next General Manager for their Melbourne operations. The General Manager role is a critical position within this organisation, leading the established Victorian leadership team and reporting directly to the Vice President for Australia and New Zealand. This role would also be part of the Australia and New Zealand Leadership team. Role requires leading a business through growth and transformation, driving efficiency and profit improvement by analysing data, leading improvements and initiatives. The most suitable candidate would have a background as a senior leader from the print and packaging manufacturing sector within the FMCG industry, with substantial sales and commercial focus. The role is highly customer-focused and suitable for a strategic leader with experience in developing commercial relationships and identifying prospective market growth areas for the business. Role Responsibilities General Business Management Strategic and tactical business analysis and planning, including one-year, three-year and five-year business plans Oversee preparation of the annual budget Operational Maintain safety, quality, and asset control standards and processes Create a culture of safety and operational excellence across all areas Business Development Drive commercial performance and work closely with the sales leadership to propose new strategies and tactics that will increase sales Keep a keen eye on identifying and evaluating potential market growth areas People Management Deliver an effective communication of company strategy to all team members, inspiring day-to-day performance through the translation of strategy into operational goals Performance management of direct reports, including identifying developmental needs and providing guidance and coaching Leadership Be an engaged and committed member of the ANZ leadership team Be available and approachable within the broader business, facilitating consultation, open debate and collaboration on business issues Foster a culture that leads to enhanced employee satisfaction and engagement Relationship Management Manage and develop major client relationships at senior levels Build and foster relationships with key industry partners, alliances and distribution channels Further information regarding the role responsibilities can be provided without the information pack for this role. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Undergraduate qualifications in a relevant business discipline. Postgraduate or MBA qualifications preferred. Familiarity with the target market, its key players and purchasing behaviours – whether developed externally, internally or both Knowledge of potentially relevant revenue models and how they can be adapted and combined for optimal returns Proven track record in delivering on business targets Proven ability to successfully communicate, present and influence key senior external customers and stakeholders Experience leading and managing a high-performing production team in a fast-paced environment Only candidates with the right to work in Australia will be considered for this role.
