About the team The department's Shared Services Hub is at the forefront of service delivery under the Whole-of-Government Shared Services Program. The Shared Services Hub is committed to delivery effective and efficient payroll services in line with Service Level Agreements negotiated with each client agency. Working the Hub presents a unique opportunity to be involved in innovative service delivery arrangements relating to both systems and processes, and to collaborate across teams and across the public sector. The Hub delivers the following functions: Payroll delivery Client engagement Aurion systems administration Hub project management and delivery, including onboarding new client agencies Assurance The Hub uses the Aurion Human Resource Management System (HRMS). The opportunity We are building a merit pool to fill current and future vacancies in Shared Services Hub. Initially roles will be offered as non-ongoing opportunities, with the possibility of converting to ongoing employment. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organisation responsible for delivering payroll services to a range of client agencies with over 14,000 payslips processed each fortnight. The key duties of the position include For vacancies in the Payroll Delivery teams, as a Payroll Officer you will: Process a range of tasks related to the delivery of payroll and conditions of service including commencements, salary variations, calculation of allowances and final entitlements for cessations. Complete payroll transactions and related correspondence in accordance with the fortnightly payroll cycle. Understand an apply relevant APS legislation and terms and conditions including Enterprise Agreement policy and procedures. Provide clear, comprehensive and accurate verbal and/or written advice to stakeholders within appropriate timeframes. Maintain data in the Aurion payroll system and other platforms as required to ensure compliance with the department's records management and privacy policies. Display teamwork and support other payroll officers, including across teams during busy periods. Participate and contribute to the continuous improvement of the payroll team processes and practices.
