Senior Solutions Engineer Fastly is looking for a passionate and exceptional customer-focussed solutions engineer to be the primary technical contact and trusted advisor for Fastly customers, building long-term customer relationships with a foundation of proactive and thorough assistance. This role requires the technical expertise and the focus of client-driven communications to act as the primary contact for some of our largest and most critical clients. A Senior Solutions Engineer will have broad technical expertise, along with scripting/software development capabilities and an advanced understanding of networking protocols (HTTP, TCP). What We’re Looking For: Proficiency in CDN and WAF technologies, including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of HTTP, web application technology, and API security best practices. Deep understanding of internet protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, TCP/IP) and web application security principles. Prior experience in Cybersecurity, Application Security, SaaS/Cloud or hybrid cloud deployments; Apache/NGINX/IIS or other web server platforms and associated Application server technologies and frameworks Experience with customer-facing technical consultant Experience with project management, including analyzing a project’s requirements, designing and documenting a solution, and delivering that to successful completion We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these: Experience in Varnish/VCL Experience in developing applications in Rust, Go, or Javascript Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools. Written and deployed automated testing on top of continuous integration / continuous deployment systems Worked with infrastructure automation/configuration management systems Experience deploying and managing HTTP caching proxies (Application Delivery Controllers / Content Delivery Networks) Must be fluent in English While most duties will be performed during normal business hours, there is an occasional requirement for a flexible schedule as necessary based on customer needs. We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these: Proficiency in one or more programming languages Superior organizational and project management skills Kubernetes Know-how. Kubernetes is now being used everywhere, and we always like to have more in-house knowledge Knowledge of different Systems Config Management tools is very helpful Any additional language skills Work Hours This position will require you to be available during core business hours, 9am - 6pm Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements: This position is open to the following preferred locations: Pune, India This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.
