Project Officer (Identified Position) Canberra Location Baseline Security Initial 5 Month contract Our client is seeking an Identified Project Officer required for 5-month contract with an end of September start. Key Responsibilities: Manage the schedule of the First Nations Board meetings, agendas, briefing documents and attending and minuting the meetings Act as a point of contact for the First Nations Board members Support the Investment and Development team in the end-to-end delivery and evaluation of projects Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver key project outcomes and identify and respond to opportunities and challenges in the First Nations sector Manage project contracts, monitor budgets and expenditure, escalating concerns as needed Undertake scoping, planning and refinement for future project opportunities and provide recommendations Key Capabilities: Demonstrated knowledge of First Nations culture and protocols with the ability to establish credibility with stakeholders Strong project management skills with proven ability to effectively plan, implement and evaluate projects, including budget and expenditure monitoring Sound problem solving skills, with the ability to identify and propose workable solutions to problems Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare complex briefs, project plans and reports using plain English Willingness and ability to travel nationally as required, including remote locations, a driver’s license is required Please Note: This is an identified position and is only open to candidates that identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
