Position Description 3314-Environmental-Health-Officer.pdf(PDF, 140KB) The Opportunity We are currently seeking a Environmental Health Officer to provide effective and efficient service to reduce risks to both public health and the environment. This incorporates the administration, implementation and enforcement of the Food Act 2003, Public Health Act 2010, Protection of the Environment Operation Act 1997, Local Government Act 1993, Contaminated Lands Management Act 1997 and associated Regulations. What we are looking for in you Tertiary level qualification in Environmental Health, Environmental Science or equivalent. Ability to work well within and contribute proactively in a team environment. Good mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills and ability to liaise effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. Ability to produce quality work on a wide range of Environmental Health matters, including the preparation of well-written reports, file notes, briefing notes, fact sheets, educational material, and correspondence. Knowledge of and capacity to implement legislative and regulatory framework relevant to Environmental Health including, but not limited to the Food Act 2003, Public Health Act 2010, Local Government Act 1993, Protection of the Environmental Operations Act 1997, Environment Planning and Assessment Act 1979. Class “C” Driver Licence. SafeWork Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card).
