Financial Manager Location: Sydney, NSW Division: Finance About the Company An established and growing organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Manager to join its Finance team in Sydney. About the Role Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will oversee financial accounting and reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You will lead a team of three Financial Accountants while working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders to support informed decision-making. This is a critical leadership role, ideal for someone with strong technical expertise, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a passion for driving process improvements. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop a team of Financial Accountants Oversee AP/AR, bank reconciliations, general ledger, and intercompany transactions Manage month-end journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and statutory obligations (BAS, GST, FBT, payroll tax, PAYG, superannuation, etc.) Coordinate external audits and year-end processes Support process improvement initiatives and system enhancements (ERP & BI tools) Assist with management and executive reporting to improve visibility and decision-making About You Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, plus CPA/CA qualification Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, compliance, and taxation Proven leadership and people management experience Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Advanced Excel skills with experience in financial systems (ERP preferred) High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Desirable Experience with Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar ERPs Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI Experience with group accounting and intercompany procedures Background in a complex, multi-entity environment What’s on Offer Key leadership role within a dynamic finance function Collaborative and supportive team culture Opportunities for professional growth and development Competitive remuneration package Ready to take the next step in your finance career?
